It's been nearly two years since I last posted on this blog, and I wanted to take a moment to explain my absence and share what's been happening behind the scenes.
When I first started this blog, it was a platform for me to delve deeper into the details of my work, life, and creative process. It served as a sort of digital diary, allowing me to document my journey and share insights that wouldn't fit in the confines of the short format social media platforms. I also wanted a place where my artistic musings could live on my website.
Life took me on an unexpected journey. After finishing graduate school,I took on some pretty substantial projects. I started the Butter Pecan Archive and took on a digital archiving position with a West Coast University. Then I took on two pretty hefty creative projects which left me in a creative block that lasted nearly a year and had me questioning if I would ever want to make art anymore. I know many artists deal with creative block, and it can be very challenging, and it took me some time to navigate through it. I needed space to grow, evolve, and redefine my artistic direction. I questioned what I wanted to say through my work and what I hoped to achieve.
Now, as I emerge from this period of self-discovery and growth, I'm excited to announce that I'll be resuming regular blogging. My goal is to share short, insightful posts on an (almost) bi-monthly basis. I want to bring you along on my creative journey, offering a glimpse into my evolving work, life, and the lessons I've learned along the way.
I'm grateful for your patience and support during my hiatus, and I'm eager to reconnect with you all. Let's embark on this journey together, as I continue to explore the depths of my creativity and share the intricate details of my life and work.
